Pembangunan smartphone modular dalam proyek Ara sepertinya terus mengalami kemajuan. Google sebagai pihak yang menginisiasi proyek ini pun bakal membuat ajang pertemuan para developer yang ingin terjun dalam proyek Ara.
Konferensi tersebut pun bukan menjadi satu-satunya pertemuan para developer Ara yang digalang oleh Google. Menurut rencana, mereka juga akan mengdakan dua konferensi serupa yang dilaksanakan pada tahun ini. Namun pihak Google masih merahasiakan tanggal pelaksanaannya.
Proyek Ara sendiri merupakan hasil kelanjutan dari Phoneblock. Proyek ini diumumkan oleh Motorola yang kemudian pada akhirnya diakuisisi oleh Lenovo. Namun, Google ternyata tak memasukkan Proyek Ara sebagai bagian dari proses akusisi tersebut. Jadi, saat ini mereka masih menjadi pihak yang berhak mengembangkan proyek tersebut.

peluncuran aplikasi tersebut oleh Microsoft, Google pun secara resmi

Microsoft sendiri enggan dianggap bersalah dalam kasus yang satu ini. Mereka pun mengatakan bahwa Google secara sengaja menutup aplikasi tersebut agar user Windows Phone tidak bisa mengakses YouTube. Dengan begitu, pengguna Windows Phone tidak bisa mempunyai pengalaman yang sama dengan iOS ataupun Android.
Selain itu, Microsoft mengatakan bahwa Google meminta mereka untuk membuat aplikasi berbasiskan HTML5. Hal itu pun mereka anggap sebagai sebuah kesengajaan. Microsoft mengatakan permintaan akan aplikasi berbasis HTML5 tersebut tidak diajukan Google di platform Android ataupun iOS.
